Case Overview
Full-process case study of EVA sole waste processed through the LF-300 spiral crusher for semi-plasticizing. Demonstrates the three-in-one process for volume reduction and reuse of EVA sole scrap.
1. Material and Target
| Material Type | EVA sole scrap (including foamed and solid soles) |
|---|---|
| Initial Condition | Waste soles / sole offcuts, containing EVA foam layer + rubber/TPR outsole, in chunks |
| Material Source | Customer-supplied material |
| Key Challenge | EVA foam layer softens and sticks to blades when heated; soles contain multiple bonded materials — need whole-piece processing without pre-separation |
| Target Output | Semi-plasticized (dense agglomerates) |
| Downstream Use | Recycled EVA pelletizing, virgin-material substitute for injection molding, recycled footwear feedstock |
2. Case Visuals
The page uses a three-image structure: raw material, on-site process and finished output. If you later replace them with watermarked or compressed versions, you only need to overwrite the published files at the same paths.

3. Equipment Setup
- Core Equipment: LF-300 Spiral Crusher
- Process Route: Sole chunks fed directly → spiral extrusion & shearing + semi-plasticizing → agglomerate discharge
- Auxiliary System: Reverse control + output size adjustment
4. Process Highlights
Integrated Processing of Composite Sole Waste
EVA soles typically contain multiple layers (EVA foam midsole + rubber/TPR outsole). The LF-300 simultaneously crushes and semi-plasticizes the different materials through spiral extrusion and shearing — no need for pre-separation or sorting.
Temperature Control to Prevent Sticking
The EVA foam layer is prone to softening when heated. The LF-300's low-speed spiral design keeps frictional heat within a controlled range, achieving semi-plasticized agglomeration while preventing excessive melting that would cause material to stick to blades and chamber walls.
Volume Reduction & Reuse Value
Sole waste is bulky and costly to store. After LF-300 semi-plasticizing, the volume is drastically reduced, and the agglomerates can be directly used as feedstock for recycled footwear materials.
5. Result Summary
- Output: Semi-plasticized dense agglomerates with EVA and rubber components uniformly blended
- Pellet Properties: Significant volume reduction, easy to store and transport, suitable for recycled pelletizing
- Applications: Recycled footwear feedstock, EVA pre-pelletizing treatment, footwear factory scrap volume reduction & reuse
