Case Overview
Full-process case study: PE plastic film waste processed through the LF-300 spiral crusher — crushing, agglomeration, and semi-plasticizing in a single machine. Demonstrates integrated processing of light, loose film waste.
1. Material and Target
| Material Type | PE plastic film scrap |
|---|---|
| Initial Condition | Thin, lightweight film sheets; bulky and fluffy; lightweight and easily airborne |
| Material Source | Customer-supplied material |
| Key Challenge | Film is light and loose — difficult to feed, conventional crushers struggle to bite into it; PE softens easily when heated, causing material to stick to blades |
| Target Output | Crushed & semi-plasticized (dense granules / agglomerates) |
| Downstream Use | Pre-treatment for recycled pelletizing, direct return to injection molding as virgin-material substitute |
2. Case Visuals
The page uses a three-image structure: raw material, on-site process and finished output. If you later replace them with watermarked or compressed versions, you only need to overwrite the published files at the same paths.

3. Equipment Setup
- Core Equipment: LF-300 Spiral Crusher
- Process Route: Film direct feeding → low-temp spiral extrusion & shearing → crushing + agglomeration + semi-plasticizing discharge
- Auxiliary System: Reverse control + output size adjustment
4. Process Highlights
Three-in-One Integrated Processing
The LF-300 completes crushing, agglomeration, and semi-plasticizing — three process steps — in a single machine, replacing the traditional crusher + agglomerator + plasticizer combination. PE film enters and is broken down through spiral extrusion and shearing; simultaneously, frictional heat brings the material to a semi-plasticized state, where it naturally agglomerates into dense granules.
Low-Temp Shearing to Prevent Sticking
The spiral operates at low speed with temperature control, preventing PE film from fully melting and sticking due to excessive heat build-up — it strikes the balance between crushing and semi-plasticizing, producing dry, non-sticky granules.
Significant Volume Reduction
After semi-plasticizing and agglomeration, the bulky film undergoes a dramatic volume reduction. Density increases from ~0.05 to above ~0.5 g/cm³, making storage and transport far more efficient.
5. Result Summary
- Output: Semi-plasticized dense granules / agglomerates — dry and non-sticky, with significantly reduced volume
- Pellet Properties: Higher density; suitable for direct re-injection molding or downstream pelletizing
- Applications: Pre-treatment for recycled PE pelletizing, direct return as virgin-material substitute, solid waste volume reduction for transport
