Case Overview

Full-process acceptance trial case study: customer carbon fiber prepreg waste tested on the ZFS-250. Demonstrates the on-site performance of liquid cooling temperature control and anti-tangle structure on prepreg material.

1. Material and Target

Material Type Carbon fiber prepreg scrap
Initial Condition Cut pieces of prepreg containing uncured resin; expired prepreg rolls
Material Source Customer-supplied material for acceptance testing
Key Challenge Prepreg combines resin stickiness with carbon fiber toughness — both the sticking-to-blades and fiber-tangling issues must be solved simultaneously
Target Output Customer acceptance standard (short fiber / powder, depending on customer requirements)
Downstream Use Substitute for virgin carbon fiber feedstock; recycled composite intermediate

2. Case Visuals

The page uses a three-image structure: raw material, on-site process and finished output. If you later replace them with watermarked or compressed versions, you only need to overwrite the published files at the same paths.

3. Equipment Setup

  • Core Equipment: ZFS-250 Carbon Fiber Grinding Machine
  • Process Route: Prepreg direct feeding → low-speed grinding → screened output
  • Auxiliary System: Liquid cooling & temperature control + anti-tangle structure + fully enclosed dust control

4. Process Highlights

Key Metrics Verified in the On-Site Acceptance Trial

Three items were verified on site: ① whether the machine can run continuously and stably without jamming (anti-tangle performance); ② whether the output is uniform and free of sticky clumps (temperature control effectiveness); ③ whether throughput and output specification meet the target.

Liquid Cooling for Temperature Control & Anti-Sticking

The ZFS-250's liquid cooling system keeps the grinding chamber temperature below the resin softening point, preventing the uncured resin in the prepreg from softening due to heat build-up and sticking to blades or chamber walls.

Stable Anti-Tangle Operation

The specialized anti-tangle structure ensures that continuous-fiber prepreg is effectively sheared and dispersed as soon as it enters the grinding chamber, without wrapping around the rotor shaft — enabling continuous, stable operation.

5. Result Summary

  • Output: Uniform short fiber or powder; dry and non-sticky; no clumps
  • Acceptance Result: The customer confirmed on site that the output met the target specification
  • Applications: Recycled carbon fiber feedstock, SMC / BMC filler, composite intermediate
